It's time we all get serious about our national security. Sustainability is not just the right thing to do, it is a license to do business and a national and international security imperative. If you really look at it, most modern conflicts have been about the control of resources (oil, need I say more). The ever growing population and industrialization of our planet will only compound the problem.
What we need is precise management policy (conversion to the world's forests to managed care is a prime example, renewable energy another) and laser like implementation of our plan both through governmental agencies, industry and ENGO's.
The resources of the world belong to the people and non-human bio-systems, they are not the property of a priviliged few in a position of power.
Failure in not an option!
