From Grass Roots to Tree Roots

The progression of our conversation around sustainability is advancing forward in a way that has not been experienced by humankind in the past. Our many grass root initiatives from individuals and organizations are growing in strength and now resemble "tree roots" rather than grass roots. They are much stronger and more firmly anchored to the earth.

Our efforts and initiatives centered around environmental and social ethics are gaining momentum with a much firmer foothold than that of similar movements of the past. The resulting polices emerging out of many corporations are a reflection of the increased social consciousness and awareness, of the damaging effects that current anthropogenic activity is causing. Our responsibility for a call to real action is also gaining strength.

So we need to keep up the good work, integrating real results oriented programs into our business objectives, regardless of our where in the supply chain we find ourselves. The resulting "tree root" level programs will be a vital boost forward in making real gains towards a sustainable future.
